The new dwelling will be designed to the very rigorous and exacting German Passivhaus Standard (http://www.passivhaus.org.uk/). This is a rapidly growing and accepted building standard, forming the de-facto model of high-performing eco-friendly buildings which achieve fantastic real-world performance, as both the design and construction are assessed against strict baselines.

Having produced a full detailed construction drawing package set, liaised with structural engineers, mechanical & electrical consultants, passiv consultants, various suppliers of Passivhaus Certified Products, ECA will be going forward as Contract Administrators for the project, providing the clients with full support and service from the initial concept design right through to handing over the finished house.

The contractor has begun establishing the site and demolishing the existing barn and bungalow ready for the new house and outbuildings to be erected. Temporary power and access have been established, with the remaining demolition to be completed this week.
