Dudsbury Road

This project explores the re-development Berkley Avenue and the land behind Dudsbury Road. Located within the New Road Special Character Area, the existing plot features a 0.39-hectare garden, which is disproportionately large compared to neighboring properties and represents an inefficient use of land.  

To provide additional housing that meets local needs, two distinct development options have been designed:  

• Option 1: Demolish to create a new cul-de-sac with four new dwellings.  
• Option 2: Retains and extends the existing properties, while introducing a new road to access one additional dwelling at the rear.  

Both layouts are carefully designed to avoid the appearance of backland development by ensuring new homes front the adopted roads. The proposals integrate new trees and hedgerows to protect privacy and enhance the sylvan character valued in this neighborhood.
