Appointed by Weymouth Town Council, ECA is revitalising Tumbledown Farm into a thriving community farm and growing space. This visionary project supports local well-being by bringing the land back into sustainable use while protecting the adjacent Radipole Lane SSSI and rich natural habitats. Central to the scheme is the 'Plant to Plate' model, which promotes food growing, processing skills, and social interaction, particularly for vulnerable people.
The architectural proposals breathe new life into the site's run-down agricultural buildings. Our design includes the sensitive demolition and replacement of structures to provide modern workshops, demonstration spaces, and a dedicated pack-house. Existing buildings will be carefully repurposed to house kitchens and educational rooms. Enhanced by polytunnels, renewable energy, and improved access, the redeveloped farm will serve as a sustainable, inclusive hub for the Weymouth community.
